This is an example of the framework
for a typical day. The children's individual personalities, particular interests
and group dynamics influences the activities and the specific schedule that
occurs in each particular Playgroup.
Language in Action immersion programs offer children and teachers the luxury
of extended time and repeated exposure throughout the week. Parents have the flexibility to select the days and times that best suits their schedule, and also facilitates siblings to attend class together.
Students in our programs range from complete beginners to children who comprehend
Spanish/Mandarin completely. The curriculum is designed so that the children
absorb information and learn at their own level and pace. The children who
comprehend completely gain confidence and speak up, which in turn provides
additional support to the novices. Our experience has shown that this is a
tremendously effective supportive way to broaden and deepen children's grasp
of a second language, regardless of their level of proficiency.
Our program is specifically structured for the children’s development
cycles. The curriculum is implemented with appropriate emphasis on the physical,
emotional, social and cognitive needs of the child.
We recognize that a child’s first experience away from home needs to be positive and fun.
Our program ensures that children feel secure and safe. The classroom
is set up to invite the child to discover and master gross and fine motor
development, all while acquiring a second language.
Parents provide snacks for immersion programs and children should be dressed
in clothes and shoes ready for art and movement activities. We ask parents
to pack an extra set of clothes, as well as diapers and wipes for those who are not potty trained.
