Los Chiquititos (18 months – 24 months)
Los Chiquititos is for our youngest students who might not have experience
being away from home. Our teachers are ready to help ease the separation of
parent and child. In our San Francisco language center, we have two programs:
the Morning Glories (Las Campanillas) from 8:30 - 10:30 and the Sunflowers
(Los Girasoles) from 10:40 - 12:40. Las Campanillas have a snack time while
Los Girasoles eat lunch together so they are well fed when leaving HolaKids
and typically heading off to siesta!
Los Pequeñitos (2 years old)
Pequeñitos is for 2 year olds who are ready for a longer stretch of
time away from home and caregivers. Children are required to attend at least
twice weekly for consistency and familiarity. This program expands on the
Los Chiquitios curriculum as these students are with us longer and can cover
more songs, arts, and language.
Los Curiosos (ages 3) Pre School
Los Curiosos are our curious preschoolers – eager to seek more and become
masters of their own Spanish-based universe! Our curriculum enables the child
to develop the confidence in a new language while having fun and tackling
other preschool prerequisites including motor skills, interaction with peers,
and self-expression. Our curriculum emphasizes comprehension and verbal communication
of the Spanish language.
Los Aventureros (ages 4 and 5) Pre K
At this age, we add another dimension to comprehension and verbal communication
by introducing Spanish phonetics. This increases vocabulary while preparing
children for reading and writing. Visual discrimination and sequencing are
introduced to help children articulate in Spanish and deepen their verbal
skills, in a manner that is light-hearted and fun.
The children's grouping is mostly determined by age; however, as children's development can range quite dramatically, we take that into consideration when finding the appropriate fit for each individual child. The curriculum of Los Pequenitos, Curiosos, and Aventureros focuses on the same themes but expands the language, vocabulary, and content according to each age group. The songs, books lists, and activities are different between the different groups. This provides reinforcement but also variety and developmental increments as the child progresses through our program.
